As we enter Black History Month, No More Dirty, Inc. (NMD, Inc.) is proud to present a powerful three-day celebration that honors the richness, resilience, and contributions of Black communities. The 2025 Black History Month Kickoff Series, happening February 6-8, 2025, in Huntsville, AL, will bring together art, music, literature, mental health awareness, and Black health advocacy to educate, inspire, and empower our community.
Each day of this immersive experience is designed to celebrate Black excellence through creative expression, meaningful discussions, and critical health awareness. Whether you are an art enthusiast, a mental health advocate, or someone seeking deeper knowledge about Black health disparities, this three-day series offers something impactful for everyone.

This opening event, hosted at the Huntsville Museum of Art, will highlight the intersection of Black identity, storytelling, and music while providing an engaging and interactive experience for attendees.

- Black Art Exhibits & Guided Tours: Discover the thought-provoking works of Alicia Henry and Fahamu Pecou, artists whose work explores Black identity, resilience, and representation. Hourly 30-minute tours will give deeper insight into these masterpieces.
- Live Music & Entertainment: Enjoy a soulful performance from Charles & Tanya Harris and groove to the beats of DJ Teef, presented by RUWA Entertainment.
- Interactive Art Activity: Engage in creative expression with the "Promise Pals" coloring collection by author Dorian Stewart.
- Black Authors Showcase: Meet acclaimed authors Mark Brezzell and Dorian Stewart, who will share their powerful literary works that uplift, educate, and inspire Black communities.
- Youth Artist Feature: Meet Elise Cannon, 16-year-old award winning artist known for her powerful and evocative works that explore deep cultural themes. She attends Columbia High School and is excited to showcase her pieces at the event.

This event shines a spotlight on Black health disparities, particularly the connection between diabetes and heart disease. Mark Brezzell, author of A Matter of the Heart, will lead an engaging and eye-opening discussion on the importance of proactive health care, awareness, and prevention.
